Preventing Phytophthora Contamination in Native Plant Nurseries

DSC02178_3530Over the past several years, numerous Phytophthora plant pathogens have been detected in California native plant nurseries and habitat restoration sites. These findings spurred follow-up investigations that indicate a similarly high infestation rate in Oregon and Washington native plant nurseries.

We are offering half day workshops to inform native plant nurseries about this problem, and to share nursery best management practices that will minimize the likelihood that native plant nursery stock will be infested with pathogenic Phytophthora species. We invite and encourage your participation to promote the health of your native plants and contribute to the success of restoration efforts.
