Welcome to the WSU Puyallup Ornamental Plant Pathology program’s citizen science webpage. Here we provide information and links to our current and previous opportunities to contribute to our research.

Join us to advance knowledge and develop solutions to plant health issues in the Pacific Northwest!

Please visit the links below to find out more about the current opportunities to contribute and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Current Projects

We currently have support for two projects. The Arbutus ARME project is an opportunity to contribute to research to identify madrone trees resistant to leaf blight. The Volunteer Stream Monitoring Program is an ongoing project to advance knowledge about the Phytophthora communities in Washington’s riparian ecosystems.

We also continually seek volunteers and students to participate in research projects in our laboratories, greenhouses and local field sites. Visit our Jobs and Internship webpage or contact us for more information.

Upcoming Projects

We are actively pursuing financial support to initiate more citizen science projects. Check out our most recent initiative – The Forest Health Watch – and please contact us if you’re interested in collaborating or if there is a specific project or opportunity you would like us to pursue.
